The pioneering company of ground-handling, cargo and warehouse operations in Turkey, Çelebi starts operations in its new facilities at Atatürk Airport. The new base of Çelebi is constructed within six months on a land of 1,1 hectares which is assigned by DHMİ as part of new arrangements at the airport.
The efforts to have a new terminal building and widen the apron carried out by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority of Turkey (DHMİ) continue in full speed to bring a solution to the increasing passenger traffic at the Atatürk Airport. As part of these efforts, Çelebi Hava Servisi emptied the central-located building it used since 1987 and moved to its new building.
The new facilities of Çelebi are constructed on an area of 1,1 hectares at the end of 05/23 runway which is assigned by the DHMİ. The project prepared by Architect Mehmet Mahir Sucularlı and Architect Ufuk Ergun who are working at the construction department of Çelebi Havacılık Holding was carried out by Modernyapı. The facilities which have a 5,845 square meter construction area were completed in six months by the efforts of approximately 100 workers a day. Having an administrative building, aircraft maintenance hangar, and new warehouse premises, the facilities started service in full capacity.
Fire-resistant, class A1 construction material is used
Advanced technology was used for the construction of the facilities, with which fire-resistant construction material were used in line with the regulations. The external walls of the administrative building were designed as class A1, non-combustible aerated concrete, and the external walls of the hangar building were designed as partly aerated concrete and partly rockwool insulated sandwich panels. Rockwool sheathing was used for the administrative building’s heat insulation. Thermopane systems were used for the joineries.
A hoisting crane system was set up in the hangar
A hoisting crane system was set up in the general maintenance area and aircraft exterior body parts maintenance section in the maintenance hangar for the first time. The hangar’s interior was constructed in such a height to facilitate maintenance and painting of equipment.
